Why buy from your local bike shop??? The answer is simple: Quality, Service, Economics, and Support.

  1. Quality- All bikes are not created equal. Bicycles and their parts can be welded, forged and machined to varying degrees of strength and lightness. Bike shop quality brands may cost more than department store bikes, but that’s because they are built to higher standards. These higher standards are necessary because bike shop brands have great warrantees and customers who have dependable bikes are happy and loyal customers. Our brands represent some of the best brands in the business and are backed by their manufacturers and our shop- but you have to buy from a shop to get that benefit.

  1. Service- small shops exist because their knowledge and service is way above that of department stores, mail order companies, and large chains. Small shops like us offer free labor for a year. It’s important to take advantage of this option and get free adjustments because parts break-in. Riding with loose parts can cause permanent damage, but a simple adjustment can sometimes last the life of the bike. When you by from a local shop you also get the full attention of the staff and shared knowledge of the bicycle industry. Bicycles are simple in theory, but designs, materials, new technology and repair secrets evolve at the small-shop level of enthusiasts. If you become a loyal customer of any small shop, you’re basically in a club of knowledgeable riders who share product reviews, advice, riding spots, tools and pizza- but you have to buy from a shop to get these attention benefits.

  1. Economics- spending your money at your local shop goes right back into your community. Local shops pay school, state, local, property, and wage taxes in YOUR COMMUNITY. Local shops also EMPLOY riders in YOUR COMMUNITY.  Local shops sponsor teams, riders, and events in YOUR COMMUNITY. Why send your money to California or any other area to save less than 20 bucks?? Most of the time you forget to include the price of shipping in the cost and pay about the same without the quality service and support.

  1.  Support – The bike business is not a lucrative business and the people who own and work at local shops do so because they love the sport- not for the money and glamour. Spending money at a local shop supports people who truly have a passion for cycling, a passion which they will share with you. Local shops help open new trails for recreational riding, sponsor bike races and fun rides, and maintain trails at local riding areas.

So even if you don’t buy from our shop, please support a bike shop somewhere near your town.  Thanks and keep the rubber side down!!
