It's kind of hard to believe that 20 years ago Jason and I were in Miss. Minescue's class for 3rd grade. Time does fly, but I really don't miss that grade. Jason has moved to one of my favorite towns. What I like about Boulder is the college life mixed in with some professional companies like IBM and Amgen. The neat thing about the location is the wather. It was warmer than PA when I was out here. It snows and the it Melts. I can't believe I drove all the way to boulder to watch snow melt and do my take home exam- I could have done that at home!!
Jason and I would go out to "The Mall" every night for dinner and a few games of pool. The "Mall" is this neat area of town where the road is covered with brick and cars are not allowed. Very cool. Below: Jason and I at the courthouse in front of the fountain.
Like Matt's view, Jason's is very unique.
Jason was kind enough to let me do my take home exam on his computer. I feel it only natural that a good friend of mine would have a notebook computer, digital camera and distiller on his kitchen counter.
Below: Jason, Sue and I had a great Italian meal at this little restaurant on the Mall.
Boulder is planned very well. There are bike paths and sidewalks everywhere. I went jogging with some guy who went to Temple. He said that it is common to see world class runners training here in winter. Very cool. Naturally I got all excited about the pro-bike movement. Check out the bike lock/parking meter.
I finally finished my exam and made some time to explore. Below: me at Boulder State park and the first overlook.
I even made some time to check out the university campus. This picture is just a sample of the buildings at this university. It was very neat and made me feel old. But then I got on my bike and that old feeling somehow went away!:)
I'm not sure what my fascination is with street people, but this guy was actually very nice and had an awesome dog. The dog was gorgeous. I asked him if I could take his picture. When he said "yes" I gave him a buck. I aimed the camera and the dog started getting excited. Then the guy gently talked to the golden mut and said, "He's not going to squirt us, he's a nice guy and gave us money for a picture." I guess life is tough for some even in Boulder. Of course no matter what, the dog is always there.
